Small Business Marketing Tips

Are you unsure how to develop a winning marketing strategy for your small business? Are you trying everything you can think of to captivate potential customers but it’s just not working out? Are you overwhelmed by all the tips Google, Bing, and Yahoo provide? Well you’re in luck, because we have already done our research. Based in NYC, the marketing firm Marketers Anonymous will take care of all these issues for you as they create and market that competitive edge you have always wanted.

Here are a few helpful tips for you to try out: Tip #1: The first thing you must do to get that competitive edge is to identify who your target market is. Tip #2: You must be able to illustrate what makes you different from your leading competitors. Tip #3: You should describe the benefits of your product or business. Tip #4: Stay on target.

Once you have successfully identified these answers, your next task is to make sure that your advertisements are placed in appropriate areas for your specific market. Try categorizing your customers into segments to help you identify your sub-target groups so you can advertise accordingly. Helpful segments to categorize your groups can be: *MVCs = most valuable customers, *MPC = most profitable customers, *NC = New customers, *LC = Loyal customers, and *SW = switchers (not loyal, but they’ll take whatever is on sale).

W.O.M; Word Of Mouth is a powerful and free tool. Use it. Have your MVC and LC (*most valuable customers and loyal customers) spread the word about your fantastic product. When your valuable and loyal customers are satisfied they will automatically rave about your product to friends and family, which will create more valuable and loyal customers. Tips on ways to spread the word of mouth: 1) Give out free samples–everyone love freebies; from your devoted to your new to your seeking customers. 2) Discounts–everyone loves a discount. Reducing the price, even for a short period of time, will also encourage the customer to go out now and buy the product (*hey if you can save a few bucks why wouldn’t you purchase it now?) Also, you can get creative with your discounts – only give the first 100 people who like a facebook page, or only give discounts to customers who signed up a friend on your mailing list. 3) Surprise current customers–one way to create and maintain customer loyalty is to reward your current customers. Every few months have a raffle and pick one lucky customer who will receive a discount for that month or a free prize.

The more information you can gather and know about your target market, the greater you chances of success. Without customers, you have no business – so make sure you have a winning strategy that will give you that competitive edge.

business tips

The past decade has seen many important inventions and most importantly innovations come in the scene to further re-defined technology. Technology has always been optimized to make it more user-friendly; this quest for perfection is what drives everybody and everything around you.

Through internet marketing, one can easily pave their way to becoming one of the internets hottest business of the times. It all depends on how you utilize the internet for marketing and advertising. Here are some tips that will ensure that you spend quality time on the internet by optimizing resources and promoting your local business.

Search Engine Optimization: If there is a single most important factor that determines the success of your business on the internet, then it is the SERP or the Search Engine Results Page. One always seeks to be listed in the first page of the SERP because it is the place from where you can get the maximum traffic. Sadly enough for the pages at the bottom of the list can safely rest to lay their website in graves because there is hardly anyone who ever visits that part of the results! SEO is even more important for survival of local businesses because the search engine algorithm works in a way that it gives the best results for a local search.

Naturally, to be on the list of best and the most relevant sites, you have to optimize your website accordingly that matches the criteria laid by the search engines algorithms. Keyword optimization is also a big part of SEO!

Email marketing: Email marketing is building lists and then sending out promotional mails to the list in order to generate more in-depth curiosity in your website/product. A successful email marketing strategy only works if you have a good website backup at your hand because that is the place from where the maximum input to your list will come! Hence use a website, use tools that give you the option of drawing in more clients and customers, like the squeeze page and Autoresponder; give your clients the choice of a landing page and witness huge website traffic in-flow to your email list ultimately!

Lead Generation: Even before email marketing can actually begin, you need to generate leads/build lists. It is another thing that you can even generate leads after you have resorted to email marketing, but that is more of a by-product of a result than a real result itself. Therefore it would be wise on your part to generate contacts and build your list rather than simply depending on your clients and customers to take you forward. Better still, give them a chance to take you forward or even compel them to do so!

The internet is a glaring example of what it has done to enrich our lives. One of the things that strike you as a matter of fact is that businesses have evolved today; to be precise the marketing part of businesses. There is no business today without internet marketing. Even if it is an old and trusted brand, without internet presence it simply cannot survive the onslaught of the increasing competition!

business tips

1. Use front and back! – I’m still amazed that ever so often I see graphic designers only have their design printed on one of the sides and not the other. You’re job is to promote yourself as much as possible, imagine doubling your promotion just for an extra $ 30? (That is how much it costs to add the back)

2. The benefits! – Even though most people who meet up with graphic designers are very polite, in there mind they all think of one thing, “How will this graphic designer benefit me?” so in your business card make sure to include a tag line or a list, make sure you have it and make sure it gives the benefits onto why it would benefit the customer working with you.

3. The secret law of 7! – Did you know that in order to get into a habit of something a person needs to do it 21 times? Did you also know that it takes around 7 times for a person to view your identity before they make any business with you? In case you haven’t figured it out, your identity is your logo, so make sure to have a logo your business card.

Try to make it high on the business card and either on the right or the left corner. When the person puts it into the wallet they only see the top of it. When the person takes out the business card they grab it in the center leaving the sides exposed to them.

The year 2009 saw 233,770 business registrations in the UK. The company formation statistics, according to Companies House, shows the establishment of 162,329 companies by May 2010 (as mentioned in CompleteFormations.co.uk). The reasons why entrepreneurs choose the UK for starting a business are essentially two: firstly, the ease with which the law allows business registration; and secondly, the political stability that facilitates tremendous growth.

Business registration is not a difficult task but definitely a time consuming one. Moreover, the electronic registration process, which is quicker and easier than the traditional paper filing procedure, requires the intervention of an authorized agency.

Business Registration: Points to Remember

The following are certain points that an entrepreneur has to religiously remember in order to complete the business registrationprocess:

Documents: The documents that have to be submitted to Companies House, the sole authority that takes care of company formations in the UK, include:

Memorandum of Association

Articles of Association

Forms 10 and 12

Appointment of Officers: The company must choose a director who would be responsible for running the every day matters and taking important decisions for current and future benefits.

The director’s name has to be mentioned in the documents. A private business house can appoint one director but a public company has to have two directors. Again, a private firm may or may not have a secretary but a public concern has to have one. In a company limited by shares, one shareholder is a must. This shareholder can double up as the director.

Company name: The company’s name must be selected with great care and must have two essential features:

It must be unique – Companies House is very strict about this. Any resemblance to another name on the company names index would lead to a refutation. Therefore, it is recommended that an entrepreneur check the index before mentioning the proposed business name in the documents. UK Intellectual Property Office Trade Marks Register and the Company and Business Names Regulations 2009 are some of the other suggested checks to ensure that one does not infringe trademarks, characters and punctuations.

It must be relevant to the company’s work scope – The name will define the company’s area of operation and will serve to attract relevant clients.

One of the oldest and most reliable agencies in the UK is CompanyFormations247.co.uk.This organization has built a reputation for itself on the basis of high quality services, offered at the most reasonable rates.
